Our B Corp journey has begun

January 2024:
With support from the EU and guidance from Märk CPH, Wheat has now taken the first step on the road to becoming B-Corp certified. Over the next six months, we will measure our company against the parameters of the B Corp standard – a big task that we are excited to get started on.
B for Benefit
B Corp is a global movement of companies that balance purpose and profit. Behind it is the non-profit organisation B Lab, which works to transform the global economy so that companies take responsibility for their impact not just on financial stakeholders, but on all the people and environments their business affects. The B stands for Benefit – for all.

"Together we can build a more inclusive, equitable and regenerative economic system for all people and the planet"
It's not just about emitting less CO2 (that's part of it too), but about a shift in the way we think and do business. Companies should be a driving force for positive change with a committed social and environmental responsibility.
"B Lab is the nonprofit network transforming the global economy to benefit all people, communities, and the planet"
Unlike material-oriented certifications such as GOTS and GRS, the B Corp standard assesses the entire company based on requirements such as social and environmental responsibility, transparency, business ethics and more. To be certified, you must document responsible practices throughout the entire value chain and commit legally to considering employees, suppliers, customers, local communities and the environment – not just profit.
Update May 2025: A new B Corp standard comes into force in January 2026. We have chosen to certify against the new standard and are now preparing to submit our application in January.
